A prisoner asks forgiveness
from his family on Father’s Day.

Sattahip Prison inmates were allowed a rare visit from
their families as a gift on Father’s Day.
The Dec. 5 “Meet the Family Day” saw 61 inmates receive
visits from family members to mark HM the King’s birthday.
Overseen by Royal Thai Navy Rear Adm. Supong Sirisonthi,
the prison said inmates have fathers too, so it was important to give them a
chance to pay respect to their elders, Supong said.
The event, he added, was a chance to show the prisoners
and their families the kind of kindness and generosity His Majesty embodies.
Officials hope the visits will lead to forgiveness and understanding on the
part of family members.
