The Royal Thai Navy continued its effort to
repopulate the Gulf of Thailand’s battered marine ecosystem, again
releasing hundreds of turtles and thousands of fish into the wild for HM
the King’s birthday.
Marking the start of His Majesty’s 85th year, Vice
Adm. Kanat Thongpool, commander of Naval Region 1, led more than 1,000
military, government, police and community representatives in releasing
985 green and Hawksbill turtles and 85,000 fish into the sea at
Sattahip’s Sea Turtle Conservation Center.
