Several of Ban Chang-area residents were injured when
a Chonburi doctor lost control of his minivan, crashing it into a busy
restaurant.
No one was killed when Dr. Theerawat Somphiwong’s
Honda CRV smashed into two parked cars at two neighboring food outlets
in the Samnuk Thonn neighborhood Dec. 3, but a 74-year-old vendor was
severely injured.
The car, which pushed the two parked vehicles into
the eatery after being cut off by a motorbike, finally stopped after
crushing a table full of Royal Thai Navy pilots, who avoided death, but
all sustained injuries. Theerawat also sustained cuts and bruises.
Pilot Srisakul Kaewprayod said the lunch-hour
accident happened quickly and that he and his fellow pilots were lucky
to have escaped with their lives.
