Pattaya School No. 11 launches diverse reading program

Students at Pattaya School No. 11 are being encouraged to read 16 books this coming school year.

Theerarak Suthathiwong
Pattaya School No. 11 and Thailand’s 7-Eleven parent company are working to get kids to read a greater number and variety of books.
Principal Jeerasak Jitsom launched the “Love Oneself by Reading Books” campaign May 22, motivating students to not only understand the importance of reading, but of reading different books. If successful, 7-Eleven franchiser CP ALL Co. will help expand the program to other Pattaya schools.
The school has compiled a suggested reading list, which can be supplemented by books students already own. Genres cover literature or religious texts that have received awards.
Students will be required to bring the books home and log their reading time. By the end of the year, each student should have completed 16 books.
