Russian spurns Pattaya after necklace snatch

Sergei Trubarev files a complaint with police, and says he will never come back to Pattaya.

Boonlua Chatree
A Russian tourist has lost faith in Pattaya after losing his gold necklace to a transvestite thief.
Sergei Trubarev, 53, complained to police May 17 that two ladyboys and a woman accosted him as he walked on Second Road near Soi 12. As one transvestite distracted him, another grabbed the 90,000 baht necklace and ran. Police did not find them.
Trubarev said he no longer feels that his belongings are safe and even doubts the personal safety of himself and his wife. He said this will be his last visit to Pattaya.
