A drunk minivan driver is wanted for the attempted rape of a female
passenger.
The unidentified driver for The Transport Co. was visibly intoxicated
while driving a van-full of people from the northern Bangkok bus station
to Pattaya April 4. All but one passenger disembarked in Sriracha,
leaving only an 18-year-old woman in the vehicle.
The victim told police the driver threatened her with physical harm if
she didn’t sit in the front passenger’s seat. When she did, he molested
her until stopping for gas on Sukhumvit Road. Afterward, he tried to
drag her to the back of the van, but she talked him out of it,
exchanging phone numbers and promising to meet up with him later that
day once they arrived in Pattaya.
When they arrived at the DK Bus Depot in central Pattaya, the woman
called her boyfriend who beat up the driver once he arrived. Drunk and
bloody, the minivan driver ran away, leaving the van behind.
Police said the 20s-age man is being sought by police and authorities
seized the minivan.
