Chonburi to rally against
domestic violence Aug. 5
Chonburi will stage a rally to campaign against violence
against women and children Aug. 5 at the Rama V monument as part of as part of
HRH Princess Bajarakitiyabha’s project against domestic violence.
Organized by the Region 2 Prosecutor’s Office, Department of Civil Rights and
Legal Aid, Attorney General’s Office and the province, the rally is part of
UNICEF’s “Say No to Violence Against Women” campaign. HRH Princess
Bajarakitiyabha, who has worked on similar projects at the Pattaya Prosecutor’s
Office for two years, is Thailand’s honorary chairwoman.
The event, which runs 4-10 p.m., is to raise awareness of domestic violence
problems, provide information on laws protecting domestic-violence victims and
promote community involvement in preventing violence.
There will be exhibitions, fine arts performances, concerts, free beverages and
food, and fireworks. (CPRD)
