TravelAsia Breakthrough Awards Night in Singapore.
TravelAsia honoured the Tourism Authority of Thailand
and A.X. Fassbind of the Royal Cliff Beach Resort as “breakthrough”
performers at TravelAsia’s inaugural Breakthrough Awards night held at
the Inter-Continental Hotel in Singapore last week.
Thailand won Best Marketing Destination, with Seree Wangpaichitr,
Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, winning the Marketeer of
the Year award. Members of TravelAsia tell us why they won; “Hong Kong
and Singapore do well, but their style is more advertising. Thailand
manages to keep the Eastern Flavour in their advertising, while using
more modern methods to communicate.” “Their Internet marketing campaign
has already won an award. It shows Thailand is using new technology
well.” “I like what they’ve done, especially this year with His Majesty
the King’s 50th anniversary celebrations.” “They have managed to come up
with new concepts. The Jubilee Year celebrations campaign works well.”
Alois X. Fassbind, executive vice president of the Royal Cliff Beach
Resort, won Hotelier of the Year. TravelAsia tells why: “Professional
approach, gives excellent service, easy to work with, reliable.” “Most
public relations minded hotelier with a good heart.” “Look what he did
and how he did it!” “A hotelier who always puts people first.”
The Royal Cliff Beach Resort won yet two more awards at this year’s
Thailand Traveller Awards. The Royal Cliff Grand won the illustrious
“Favourite Beach Resort Hotel”, while the resort as a whole won the
coveted “Most Environmentally Aware Hotel”.
Khun Panga Vathanakul, Managing Director, accepting the awards of behalf
of the resort, said, “We are extremely proud to have been honoured with
these awards and on this occasion by members of the travel industry as
well as the general public. We are especially pleased to have been
recognised for our commitment to environmental issues. These awards are
a credit to all concerned who have worked so hard to maintain these
standards.”
