Busy week for cement company
The Chonburi company that owns the cement trailer truck
involved in an accident that killed five students on the Phanat Nikom -
Chachoeng-sao Road in Phanat Nikom district last week has agreed to pay
compensation to the families, police have reported.
Representatives from TPI agreed to meet with relatives to work out an
agreement after Chonburi Governor Sujarit Patchimnun intervened on the
victim’s behalf.
Later last week, a 2.5 metre structure containing steel pipes collapsed at
TPI’s industrial complex in Rayong, injuring more than 30 workers, two of
them seriously. The accident also did serious damage to one of the company’s
backhoes.
