SHAKEN NOT STIRRED

by A. Rakchart
Herr Sven Horst Jannke, the German pimp who was arrested in Pattaya a few weeks ago for bringing Thai women to Germany and forcing them into prostitution, has been extradited to Germany. He was met at the airport by German police on Monday, 21 October. He and his wife will stand trial in Berlin, and are facing at least 26 charges. The German police believe that the rest of the gang are still in Pattaya, and will also be picked up soon.
The Finish/Swedish man, Ari, arrested last week at Don Muang Airport, has already been sent back to Sweden, by request of Swedish authorities. Inside sources state that there are probably more members of his gang living in Pattaya.
Rene Larsen, the Danish drug dealer who escaped from the Pattaya Police, is currently sick and may be HIV positive. The person or persons who helped him escape have not been identified yet, although sources believe at least one cop was involved. A good place to begin the investigation would be the Chonburi prison, where a detailed visitors’ log is kept. Someone who visited him might still have his passport, and his name should be on the list.
Currently, rumours around town suggest that national weekly newspaper, Than Sapada, was sued by a local foreigner over printed allegations stating the foreigner was involved with the local foreign mafia. Evidently, the foreigner claimed to have won 5 million baht in damages. Pattaya Mail inquiries to Than Sepada revealed that no such complaint or charge has been brought against them, and no such amount has been awarded to anyone, foreign or Thai.
A Russian tour operator, in an obvious state of intoxication at a local hotel bar, recently told all those in earshot that he had a sure fire way to traffic drugs, that he had already done it many times, and that U-Tapao airport offered the best opportunity. Little did he know that government officials were sitting near him at the bar, and that his “information” was passed on to U-Tapao airport authorities. His name went with the info, and he can now look forward to extra scrutiny when he enters and leaves the Kingdom. Readers can look forward to seeing him on the front pages of Pattaya Mail in the near future.
