A.X. Fassbind Memorial Charity dinner planned for August 13 at Linda’s Restaurant

Alois X. Fassbind, a.k.a. ‘Luigi’, a.k.a. Mr. Pattaya, left us on the 3rd of August 1998. His colourful career was devoted to the Thai tourism industry, and to philanthropic activities, including his own charity, the Fassbind Memorial Fund, dedicated to the well-being of the older members of the local community.

The Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya, of which Louis was a member, is organising a charity dinner in memory of Louis Fassbind at Linda’s Restaurant on Thappraya Road on the 13th of August 2011 commencing at 7 p.m.

This event has two main fund raising objectives: 1. Support and maintain the Fassbind Medical Home located at the Banglamung Home for the Aged.; 2. Support students undertaking education and training in the tourism and hotel business by providing scholarships.

But the main objective is to unite and reunite as many of Louis’s friends and supporters as possible under one roof, and pay tribute to the great man in the way he would like best, that is, by having a party, and a lot of fun.

There will be plenty of good food and drink, plus entertainment, and the assembled company of many of Luigi’s friends is sure to create a very special ambience. This evening promises to be one to remember.

You are most cordially invited to attend, along with friends, family, or anyone else who wishes to enter into the spirit of remembering one of Thailand’s best-loved characters, with his unique combination of humour, generosity, bonhomie, and charisma.

Proceeds of the event will be donated to Louis’s charity under the stewardship of the Rotary Club of Jomtien-Pattaya.

During and after the dinner, there will also be raffle prizes drawn to win many fabulous prizes.

If you are unable to attend, but wish to buy a ticket in absentia, or just make a donation, this support will be very much appreciated.

Dinner tickets are priced at 1,500 baht net per person, 500 baht of which will be donated to support and maintain the Fassbind Medical Home located at the Banglamung Home for the Aged and support students undertaking education and training in the tourism and hotel business by providing scholarships. Bookings can be made at Linda’s Restaurant, tel. 087 7813 0115, email: [email protected]

Dress Code: Smart Casual or Colourful with a touch of Swiss.

Finally, if you have friends or colleagues who may be interested, please forward this message on, so that as many people as possible are aware of this special occasion.
