Macau police were given a lesson on how local cops fight crime during a
visit to Pattaya.
Chonburi police deputy commander Supathee Bungkhrong and Pattaya police
superintendent Col. Suthat Pumpunmuang welcomed Macau Chief
Superintendent Paul Leong Hon San and Superintendent Cho Song Un along
with five other officers to the Soi 9 police headquarters Nov. 19.
Supathee told the visitors that the Pattaya Police Station has fully
prepared for the ASEAN Economic Community by providing interpreters for
every Southeast Asian language and recruiting foreign and local police
volunteers to help police monitor for drugs and terrorists.
He showed the Chinese police a slideshow of the crime-suppression
operations and tourist facilitation, including the patrol, marine and
land project, as well as Koh Larn’s operations.
After the meeting, Cho presented their Pattaya counterparts with gifts
and they posed for photographs before local authorities gave them a
demonstration of hostage-rescue strategies.
