The National Department of Safety Standards recently
held a competition between various municipalities in Thailand to
determine which cities had the best safety standards. In all, seven
provinces were rated, and Pattaya came in second place.
The award categories in the competition were A, B, C, and D. Pattaya
received an A category rating, and received a commendation from the
National Department of Municipality Safety Standards after achieving a
rating of 83 points out of 100.
Spokesmen for the competition and for Pattaya City boasted that this
rating and its accompanying award shows that Pattaya is a safe city and
ready to protect her citizens.
The competition was sponsored to encourage better municipal safety
standards throughout the country.
