Voting lists updated
Prasert Thanasethakorn, District Chief of Sattahip,
Chonburi reported that he had done a survey to confirm which citizens had
voting rights on July 2 1995. He said many errors had been made, with many
people with the right to vote not being included in the registers. He thus
did a second survey in August of 1996 and now, due to the dissolution of
Parliament, has ordered a new list of registered voters to be published so
they may vote in the election on November 17, 1996.
Prasert has asked for all citizens to please come to the Sattahip District
Office to ensure that those entitled to vote are on the register. He has
also asked for co-operation from hotels, merchants, and banks in posting
notices encouraging citizens to vote.
