Buddha image near completion
Dr. Suvich Rasamitati, head of the committee in charge of the laser cut
Buddha Image on the huge cliff on the side of Cheejan Hill, said that the
work is coming along as scheduled. This Buddha image, which is being carved
using a modern laser technique, and which will be dedicated to His majesty
the King on the auspicious occasion of the 50th year of His accession to the
throne, is now in the last stages. Dr. Suvit and the committee reported that
gold ordered from Italy is now being put on the Image. The final work will
be to carve the landscape border around the image itself. The work should be
finished by the end of November.
