Officers of the Crime
Suppression Division get instruction on how to better prevent crime in
Pattaya.
Police Lt. Colonel Atthapon Ngamnak, new Chief Inspector
of the Crime Suppression Division, called a meeting of all officers to
inform them of his policies and remind them of their duties.
He reminded his men that as Pattaya was a main tourist attraction, it is of
utmost importance for officers to ensure the safety of tourists, both Thai
and foreign. At the same time, the safety and well being of the residents of
Pattaya must be protected also.
Colonel Atthapon continued to say that in this era of globalisation, crime
is being globalised also. The Crime Suppression Division must therefore
upgrade their knowledge and be alert to new methods which criminals use to
commit crimes. He said that this is an opportunity for officers to improve
their efficiency, as the duty of The Crime Suppression Division is to
discover criminal activity and prevent it before it happens.
