Two Pakistanis and a South Korean were arrested for allegedly using
electronic cards and passports to rob Pattaya department stores.
Kang Youngwon, 45, Ahmad Rise, 45, and Muhammad Naveed Anwar, 39, were
captured while sitting in their Toyota Yaris at North Pattaya’s Tesco Lotus
mall Nov. 28. Police found 13 bogus electronic cards and a counterfeit
Japanese passport with them.
Searching the suspects’ hotel rooms, police uncovered another set of fake
electronic cards and passports, card-production equipment and printers.
Security personnel at Kasikornbank, who reported numerous charges made by
copied credit and debit cards at several Pattaya-area stores, had tipped off
police to the suspects.
All three were charged with counterfeiting passports, producing fake
electronic cards, use of fake passports and immigration charges.
