The YWCA Bangkok-Pattaya Center and Pattaya Business & Tourism
Association donated cash and equipment to poor residents of Nongprue
sub-district.
YWCA Chairwoman Praichit Jetapai and PBTA President Sinchai Wattanasartsathorn
presented a 12,000 baht food-selling motorcycle and sidecar to Karnjana
Muangpuag and a 9,800 baht sewing machine to the family of Pemika Sangsua as
part of the YWCA’s “Making Dreams Come True” project.
After separating with her husband, Karnjana was living alone in a shack built on
a piece of land that she rented for 3,000 baht a year until recently when it was
pulled down after the land owners had sold out.
She has no place to stay and is now living with a neighbor. Her sidecar
motorcycle that she used for making a living had broken down due to
deterioration. Therefore the organizations got her a new one so she can make a
living.
Pemika is an 8-year-old girl with developmental problems. She is living with her
parents who are doing general labor and have an unstable income. The two groups
gave Pemika’s mother a sewing machine so that she could work at home and take
care of her daughter.
In addition, Sinchai handed over 20,000 baht raised at the funeral of a former
Pattaya mayor’s mother to the Stop Human Trafficking and Child Abuse Centre.
