Ripley’s Believe It or Not! is giving unmotivated runners all
the incentive they need by having 150 “monsters” chase participants in
Saturday’s U-Tapao-Ripley’s Run.
Ripley’s Deputy Managing Director Somporn Naksuetrong announced the
unique race concept at Royal Garden Plaza Dec. 3. Staged in cooperation
with the Royal Thai Naval Air Division, the event will include a
21-kilometer half-marathon, 10.5 km. mini marathon and 5 km. walk-run.
The races start at the end of the Ban Pai canal at U-Tapao-Pattaya
International Airport in Rayong. Gates open at 8 a.m. and the runners
will depart along the “haunted” route at 1 p.m.
More than 2,000 people have already registered for the races. For more

Proceeds from the event will be used to build a children’s playground at
U-Tapao.
