Pattaya was declared a category 5 city by Royal
Decree in 1978. On the 29th of November of each year, all city and
government officials in Pattaya hold a celebration of the city’s
founding. Tourists, locals and residents alike are invited to join in or
observe the many sports competitions and banquets which will be held
throughout the city. Happy Birthday Pattaya!
