Loy Krathong casualty
Pattaya police received a report from a private citizen
that they had found a bloated corpse floating in Pattaya Bay. On inspection,
police found the body of a man floating on his back, with two deep slash
wounds on the head and one on the chest. 100 one baht coins were found in
the deceased’s pocket. The age of the victim was approximately 34, with a
swarthy complexion. Police said the victim had been dead for not less than 2
days.
Police surmise that the victim was murdered on Loy Krathong day, because of
the coins found in its pocket. Officers say there may have been an
altercation over coins which people often collect from floating Krathongs.
