Introducing the Social Welfare Bank
Mr. Sakda Narong, Head of the Social Welfare Bank,
invited over 3000 members of the media to a party to publicise the expansion
of the bank.
The Social Welfare Bank has branches throughout the country but is not yet
well known by the public.
The Social Welfare Bank is a Category 3 Government Enterprise and is
supervised by the Ministry of the Treasury. Its main function is the issue
of housing loans. New services offered are debt repayment, loans, land
purchase, condominium purchase, and loans for the purchase of land for
building. The interest on loans is lower than commercial banks and the
interest paid on savings is higher than commercial banks.
Those wishing to obtain housing loans may enquire at any branch of the bank.
