Another mysterious tourist death
Pattaya police responded to yet another report of a
mysterious tourist death. Arriving at the scene, a boarding house in
Pattayaland Soi 2, they found the body of a European, Mark Bettman (sic),
27, a UK national, lying face-up on the bed. There was no evidence of
violence or foul play.
The owner of the hostel said Bettman had checked in a week before. The owner
said he was polite, did not drink, smoke, or appear to be addicted to drugs.
Neither did he associate with bar girls.
Police admit to being mystified and could not deter-mine the cause of death.
The body has been taken to the forensic division of the police hospital for
an autopsy.
