Stressing the need to rid Pattaya of foreign
criminals, top Thailand Tourist Police commander Maj. Gen. Adis
Ngamchitsuksri toured Walking Street and got updates on local efforts to
promote safety and prevent terrorist attacks.
Pattaya Tourist Police commander Lt. Col. Arun
Promphan led the July 19 tour for Pol. Gen. Adis and the two chatted
with tourists in an effort to improve relations with the public. He was
briefed on safety initiatives and anti-terror training for officers and
said cooperation with the Pattaya Police Station and increased use of
technology can help rid the city of overseas organized crime elements
and fugitives.
At the end of the inspection tour, Steve Graham,
managing director of Securitas (Thailand) presented two Honda PCX 125 cc
motorbikes to Pol. Maj. Gen Adis. Steve spoke to the Pattaya Mail
saying, “Securitas is a renowned security company, providing security
services to homes and businesses large and small in 45 countries around
the world. In Thailand we work very closely with the law enforcement
authorities. It is our culture and our commitment to support the local
police in their duties to protect the public. I am confident that our
donation of the two motorbikes will enhance their capacity to perform
their duties more effectively for the benefit of all concerned.”
