Hotels, restaurants and beauty salons were given lessons on hygiene and
sanitation at a Pattaya Division of Public Health seminar.
Administrator Sinphat Chimthin opened the Aug. 27 event, outlining
Pattaya’s responsibilities and applicable laws while Naetiwat
Phiromplad, a public-health scholar, talked about workplace standards.
The event is held annually to maintain and raise the health standards of
tourist-facing businesses, such as restaurants, hotels and salons. Not
only does poor sanitation and hygiene affect health, it impacts the
city’s international reputation, workshop leaders said.
The seminar educated about 30 participants while helping them understand
standards and legal requirements.
