Morgan
Michael David Morgan, a.k.a. Morgan Mile, murder suspect
in the gruesome killing of his wife, Suwannee Ratanaprakorn, has been
apprehended in Ottawa, Canada, his native country. The Canadian Police,
alerted that Morgan was wanted for murder in Thailand, managed to catch him
while he was confidently wandering around in Ottawa.
After Suwanne was murdered on September 24, a massive, nation-wide manhunt
ensued. According to police reports, Morgan’s picture and passport
information were posted at all points of exit from Thailand. Local law
enforcement agencies stated confidently that they knew where Morgan was and
were about to make a quick arrest.
Apparently, the information they were receiving about Morgan’s whereabouts
was erroneous, for Morgan had apparently fled the country before the Pattaya
Police discovered the dismembered body.
Police Lt. Colonel Piya Suraprasert of the Pattaya Police has begun
negotiations with the Government of Canada for Morgan’s extradition.
However; the Canadian Government does not have the death penalty, and
usually refuses extradition if one of their citizens faces capitol
punishment. If a suspect is found guilty of murder in Thailand, the penalty
is death.
If the police are successful in Morgan’s extradition case, he will be tried
for murder under Thai law.
