Revered Abbot heads for Nirvana
Last month, Pra Athikarn Sa-artsatchasapho, 72, abbot of
Wat Khaowongkot, Kaeng-hangmaew, Chantaburi passed away due to a heart
disease.
Pra Mahabunjerd Maha-punyo, Pali teacher at Wat Sattahip (son of the
deceased) and the residents of Wat Khaowongkot placed the body for merit
making at the pavilion of Wat Khaowongkot. Pra Sangkathikarn (abbot) Phiksu
and the residents of Kaenghangmaew district hosted daily merit making
ceremonies.
During his lifetime Pra Athikarn Sa-artsatchasapho was a great support for
society and the local residents when they had problems. He cured their
illnesses with herbal medicine and taught the teachings of Buddha to the
residents of Kaenghangmaew district. He had been continuously developing the
temple and before his passing away was overseeing the construction of a new
two-storey pavilion.
