Map Ta Phut to begin phase two
The Industrial Estates Authority of Thailand (IEAT) took the first step
towards the second phase of development of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate
in Rayong when the state run agency awarded the Italian-Thai Development
Plc. with the construction contract.
Italian-Thai Plc. and IEAT will begin to reclaim land and build a deep sea
port as soon as the agreement between the two is finalized. Italian-Thai
Plc. will then have 24 months to complete the project under the guidelines
of the agreement.
Italian-Thai Plc. outbid 12 other companies, offering the lowest price of
2.09 billion baht. A consortium of Nippon Ko-et, Sinshu Poonsiriwong and RKV
will supervise the construction work.
