The newly elected president of the Pattaya Issan
Association promises to bring some modern touches to the traditional
cultural association.
Mae-Roi Jinjutha Pothisa beat out Chanchai Phaha to
lead the 800-member group for the next two years. Only 211 of the
members voted Nov. 6 at Thamsamakkee Temple.
Mae-Roi said she wants to develop and remodel the
association to raise the standard of how Issan’s unique cultural
heritage is showcased. Modernism and expansion “in the right direction”
will be the focus, she said.
