A British man was one of nine people arrested Dec. 23 for
alleged drug dealing and possession.
Benjamin Cox, 22, was arrested at a police checkpoint
near Rungland Village in South Pattaya. On him, police found 2.25 g. of
crystal methamphetamines.
Officers said Cox, fluent in Thai, claimed he was a
frequent visitor to Thailand and bought the drugs earlier in the evening on
Walking Street for his personal use. However, upon investigation, police
claimed Cox had previously been identified as a Walking Street drug dealer.
He was charged with possession with intent to distribute
a Class 1 narcotic.
Earlier the same evening, police on Soi AR in North
Pattaya arrested Saneh Puangthong, 31, who allegedly was in possession of
nearly 4.6 g. of crystal meth and 40 ya ba tablets.
Police said Saneh confessed to being a delivery boy for a
major drug dealer and was on his way to meet a customer behind the 7-Eleven
on the soi when he was captured.
Another seven unidentified people were also arrested for
suspected drug use.
