Pattaya will host a three-day meeting on how to
improve nursery school education Jan. 25-27.
Yuwadee Phetcharit, head of the city’s non-formal
education office, said the workshop to be held at the Pattaya Public
Library will focus on the connection between sensory and physical
development through such activities as drawing.
Yuwadee said nursery school education has received an
immense amount of attention in new educational reform proposals, as
grounding children at an early age with experience in co-existing
peacefully and happily with others lays a foundation for good behavior
in the future.
One key to that, she said, is building a child’s
self-confidence, which can be done, for example, through drawing
activities.
Drawing inspires children’s imagination and shows
them that learning can be fun, she said. The sensory stimulation also
helps develop their intellect, personality, emotions and an even
physique.
Furthermore, when one child shows off their talents,
classmates learn to observe, compare and classify, she said, helping
them learn through different experiences while developing relationships
with each other.
