Pattaya maritime companies were given updates on the latest
regulations at a meeting of the Pattaya Tour Boat Operators Club.
City councilman and club president Sanit Boonmachai met with about 60
operators Oct. 1 to advise them of the regulatory changes set by the Marine
Department.
Sanit said that any boat operator not registered with the club must do so to
keep the industry working in unison.
Among the rules is that every boat must have a radio to contact the mainland
in case of emergency and crews must wear uniforms with company logos. The
boat also must have licenses and certificates showing the captain’s
training.
