Police are trying to locate the mother of a 2-month-old infant
abandoned in Sattahip.
Chalerm Saenrath, 68, found the baby on her doorstep on Rin Suanluang
Chumpon road in Moo 2 village Sept 26. The child appeared healthy but was
brought to Queen Sirikit Naval Medical Center for a full checkup.
Chalerm said she was working around the house and, when she came to the
front, she saw something wrapped in cloth. At first she first thought it was
a teddy bear that somebody forgot. She approached the cloth to see it was
moving and found that it was a baby.
She took the baby and tried to find the mother but there was no hope, which
made her confident that the baby was abandoned.
Police are checking local closed-circuit cameras to see if they can identify
the mother. However, neighbors told police they believe they know who she
is.
