Drug suspect dies
in Sattahip police chase

A suspected drug user died after crashing his motorbike trying to escape
police in Sattahip.
Chalermchai Threetip, 27, died of a broken neck after hitting a tree in the
Sept. 29 crash at the 164-kilometer marker on Sukhumvit Road.
Police found 50 grams of marijuana on the body and a wound that appeared to have
been caused by a bullet.
Witnesses said they saw Chalermchai speeding from the direction of Pattaya
headed to Bang Saray, where he lived. Police at a checkpoint put on sirens and
the cyclist sped up. Trying to duck pursuing officers, he lost control and
crashed.
