Schools and businesses laid out plans for the coming year aimed
at curbing illegal drug use in the city during a budget meeting with
Pattaya health officials.
Drug prevention and rehabilitation chief Viliawan Phuluenglue met with
representatives from the city’s 11 public schools and four private
institutions, business owners and operators of entertainment venues Nov.
21.
Viliawan spoke about the detrimental impact drug use has on individuals
and societies and solicited ideas on how schools and businesses can
contribute to Pattaya’s anti-drug campaign for the 2015 fiscal year now
underway.
The prevention chief especially encouraged schools to become more active
in the royally backed To Be No. 1 Foundation, which operates in school
clubs, and sponsors’ sport and dance events to give youths productive
ways to spend their free time whilst developing a peer-to-peer support
structure.
