Mr. Pornchai Chutrakul, 27, of Nonthaburi was
arrested on December 8 for the attempted murder of Ms. Yuwadee
Wangyenniyom, 33.
Pornchai had allegedly gone to Ms. Yuwadee’s room on December 5th and
stabbed her repeatedly in an attempt to rob her. It wasn’t until Ms.
Yuwadee called out for help that Pornchai stopped. Ms. Yuwadee, aka Noi,
suffered stabs wounds to the right eye and arm.
After taking Pornchai’s description from the injured woman in the
hospital, police were able to track down Pornchai at his job as a
plumber at Pattaya Beach Inn. They brought him to the hospital where Ms.
Yuwadee was able to make a positive identification.
Ms. Yuwadee told police that she couldn’t understand why he had done it,
that she had been a friend of Pornchai’s, and that on several occasions
the two had drunk alcohol together.
Police later searched Pornchai’s room and found a 12” saw, modified into
a knife, that was used in the stabbing.
