Savitri Kanabut, confessed perpetrator, and
her alleged accomplice Samak Duangsiri.
Mr. Stefan Kloss, German national, reported to police on December 1 that
he had been drugged and robbed by a young lass he had met on the pier in
South Pattaya. Kloss identified Ms. Savitri Kanabut, 19, of Sakon
Nakhorn, and her alleged boyfriend Mr. Samak Duangsiri, 23, as the
culprits.
Police learned from Kloss that while he was sitting on the pier, he was
approached by Savitri, who told him she was a provincial and was
destitute. She then offered to have sexual relations with Kloss for 500
baht, prompting Kloss to take her to Sawatdee Court in Soi Honey Inn.
After having sexual relations, Kloss felt weak and fell asleep. Upon
awakening, he found that his cash, totalling 60,000 baht in Thai and
foreign currency, had disappeared along with Savitri.
On December 3, using Kloss’ description of Savitri, the Pattaya police
investigative division found her asleep with Samak in a house in Saeng
Suk Villa, Banglamung. Police arrested the two and charged them with
conspiracy to commit robbery.
Savitri confessed that she had done the dirty deed as she was madly in
love with Samak. She said she stole money from tourists and would give
it to Samak and they would go out and party. They would have wild orgies
of fun until the money was spent and then go back to their lair. Samak
denied everything and said he knew nothing about anything. Police did
not believe him and are bringing the full force of the law to bear on
the two.
