Relieving stress
Dr. Annop Samatiwat, Head of the Chonburi Public Health
Department, recently spoke on how the effects of the environment and the
economy cause many stress related health problems. During his speech, Dr.
Annop gave advice on how to help decrease stress, saying that stress is one
of Thai society’s major health problems today.
The doctor said to try and view everything in proper perspective and see the
ridiculous side of life. He said people who feel stress should not stay
alone and brood. Instead they should spend time enjoying simple and
non-complex conversation with friends. Show interest in those around you. Be
forgiving and equable. Worship and merit making also help one to feel better
about life. Meditation is one of the best ways to combat stress.
He said by following these simple precepts one can easier come to terms with
today’s madcap and zany world.
