Pattaya’s ongoing
clean-up campaigns
On December 4th Pattaya mayor Pairat Suthitham-rongrat
and city manager Sonksak Yomjinda, along with about 300 local citizens,
began the latest campaign to clean up the town. Efforts were concentrated on
Beach Road and Pattaya-Naklua Road beginning in front of the Dusit Resort,
and was done to honour His Majesty the King on His birthday.
Mr. Songsak said that the project was to honour Majesty the King and also to
instil a sense of responsibility in Pattaya’s citizens. The project began
with the gathering up of litter and the repair of public pavements. The area
was also swept to solve the dust problem. Trees were planted and pruned on
the three roads.
Mr. Songsak said this would be done once a month throughout Pattaya as an
example for young people and to help them take pride in having a clean city.
